The main responsible safety bodies in Macedonia is the local police. The Police Service normally performs regular police functions and duties.

Safety

Nearly all of the cities in Macedonia are considered safe as they possess very low rates of crime and violence. There is, however, a threat of pick-pocketing especially when using public transportation.

Emergency Situations

The number to be dialed in cases of an emergency are as follows: ambulance 194, police 192, fire services 193 or road emergency 196. In cases of non-emergencies, any local police stations may be contacted.
